The Great Commision

Please open your bibles to Mathew 28:18 -20. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Let us pray! Lord, I thank You for the guidance you granted me while composing the message you desired me to deliver today. I pray that you send your Spirit to help me to convey the message You have given me and also to open the hearts of those who are hearing Your words, so they can receive the message.    I ask that You grant us a childlike curiosity and a great hunger for Your Word. Lastly I ask for You to grant us Your divine wisdom so we may understand the meaning of Your Word, Amen.       Jesus commanded to all who believe, “go forth and make discipl...

A death of a Friend

Last week one of my oldest dearest friends died unexpectedly which got me to thinking about a Christians relationship with death. You see death to a Christian is a duel edged sword we grieve because we miss the person but at the same time when we know that someone is saved we celebrate because we know they have went home to be with the Lord and that we will see them again.   You may ask how I can be sure of this simple because Jesus himself promised in John 14:1-4, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”     And since I was there to witness when he finally publicly accepted the Jesus as his savior I am assured that when he closed his...

God Can use Anyone Even You!

You may wonder am I good enough for God to use me? The answer is yes God likes to use imperfect people to accomplish his task. It shows that no matter who He uses as long as He is the guiding force behind the task it will go exactly how it was supposed to. It is also a good reminder there is no obstacle that we can over come as long as we trust in the Lord   Matthew 26:30 -35 30  And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. 31  Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ 32  But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.” 33  Peter answered him, “Though they all fall away because of you, I will never fall...

Stand up for God!

In the movie God Not dead 2, Grace Wesley who is played by Mellissa Joan Hart is put on trial for answering one her student question about Jesus.  At one point in the trail she declares, “I would rather stand with God and be judged by the world then, stand by the world and be judged by God!”   I wonder how many people in this day and age would have the courage to stand up and say that knowing that they could not only lose their job but also their professional license.   Now I’m not going to give any spoilers here I just thought that, that one line in the movie was worth the price of admission and if you take nothing else with you when you are done watching the movie you should remember that one line and take it to heart. Just remember what it says in Isaiah 7:9, “If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all. God in his great wisdom has given us everything we need to be able to stand tall and declare our faith but as of late ...

Believing Is Not Enough!

Believing is not enough Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, b...

Read The Bible

18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. 19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates: Deuteronomy 11:18-20 As we start another year, I can’t help but to ponder about all the changes that have occurred over my life. As I think back I began reminiscing about my now grown kids nothing earth changing just how things have changed since my oldest was born. I thought about the internet and cable tv both of which has changed life for the better and worse. Better because it has made the world a smaller place I am able to talk to people all over the world and the information useful information that is on the internet, before the internet if you wanted to ...

A Short Bed Time Story

I am no means a professional writer, but I thought it might be nice to write a short story geared towards children giving a brief bible lesson written in a way that younger children could understand and hopefully be interesting enough to ignite their interest in learning more about the bible. While I tried to keep the substance of the story biblically accurate I did take some literary license to make it easily understandable for a younger audience. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Rainbow   I am sure you have seen a rainbow in the sky after a rain storm, but have you ever wondered why it is there?   Well I can tell you but first we must go back a long time ago when the earth was younger. People had grown wicked and stop listening to God. They did things that hurt God and He started to regret that He had made people because they had become wicked all of the time and only had evil in their hearts. So, God decided to rid the ...

Who is The Wind Beneath Your Wings?

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:28-31      Bet Midler did a song a few years ago that went, “Did you ever know that you're my hero? You're everything I wish I could be. I could fly higher than an eagle, For you are the wind beneath my wings.”   I always thought it was a pretty song but never thought about it until recently. I was listening to you tube with my granddaughter and the song just happen to play on auto play and as...
